# Tool gate

Confirm tool calls before they run.

Run with `--no-yolo` to confirm every tool call before it runs. The active transcript and tool preview remain visible while a dialog offers four choices: yes, yes-always-this-tool-this-session, yes-always-this-session, no. Tools with richer previews, such as edit and write, show their code or diff before you decide.

Press `ctrl+o` while the confirmation dialog is open to expand or collapse long tool previews. This works in both the main chat and `/btw`.

The flag is interactive-TUI only. In `-p`, `--json`, and `rpc` modes it is ignored with a stderr warning and tools still run freely, so scripts and automation keep working.
